Signum is designed to identify opportunities under uncertainty. That makes discipline around evidence especially important.
We distinguish what the record establishes from what analysis suggests, preserve the support behind material factual claims, and keep uncertainty visible when the evidence does not justify a stronger conclusion.
A persuasive story is not enough. The evidence has to support it.
Facts and analysis
We do not present interpretation as fact.
An observed fact is something the evidence establishes.
A derived fact is a reproducible calculation or comparison based on those observations.
An analytical conclusion is an interpretation supported by the evidence.
They are not interchangeable, and Signum does not present one as another.
Attribution
Evidence has to belong to the right company.
Similar company names, subsidiaries, trade names, project entities and shared addresses can make unrelated records appear connected.
Before evidence is combined into a company-level assessment, Signum works to establish that the records belong to the same economic actor.
When attribution remains genuinely uncertain, we preserve the uncertainty rather than force the record into a more convincing narrative.
Chronology
We do not use tomorrow’s information to explain yesterday.
Dates matter.
An event may occur on one date, become public on another, be captured later, and subsequently be corrected or superseded.

When Signum evaluates historical timing or validates its methodology, we distinguish what happened from what could actually have been known at the relevant time.
Later information should not make an earlier signal appear stronger than it really was.
Uncertainty
Uncertainty should not be disguised as precision.
Numbers can create authority even when the evidence does not justify it.
Signum does not turn an uncertain company-level assessment into a precise-looking probability simply because a model can produce a number.
Quantitative analysis is used where it adds information. Where the evidence supports only a bounded conclusion, the conclusion remains bounded.

Precision has to be earned by the evidence.
Method discipline
More complicated does not automatically mean better.
Signum uses statistical analysis, machine reading and multi-signal evaluation because they can help reveal patterns that simpler approaches may miss.
But complexity is not a virtue by itself.
A more complicated method should earn its place by producing meaningfully better insight, timing or commercial usefulness.
Evidence limits
What we did not find is not automatically proof that it does not exist.
Public information has limits. Sources can be incomplete, inaccessible, delayed or ambiguous.
Signum does not convert “not identified in the evidence reviewed” into “does not exist.”
Material gaps remain visible as limitations rather than being filled with assumptions.
Missing evidence remains missing evidence.
Corrections
Corrections are part of integrity, not an exception to it.
If Signum confirms a material factual error, the Brief is corrected or withdrawn.
Later developments that materially affect reliability or relevance may result in revision, suspension of availability, or withdrawal.
